The 2026 Hai Phong City Amateur Song and Dance Festival served as a community arts platform, spreading the diverse cultural identity of the city’s 114 communes, wards, and special zones.
In the last days of May, Hai Phong City Theater Square became a lively space for community performances. Large numbers of residents and visitors enjoyed standout song and dance programs presented by amateur performers from communes, wards, and special zones.
The Amateur Song and Dance Festival – Hai Phong 2026 carried special significance as it was held nearly a year after Hai Phong city and Hai Duong province merged into the new Hai Phong with 114 communes, wards, and special zones. It was also the first time a city-level community arts event brought together such a large number of grassroots performers from many localities on one stage.
From folk melodies and regional dances to songs about Hai Phong today, participating localities told the story of their homeland through artistic expression. As the cultural colors of Hai Phong - the heroic Port City, the festival not only became more than an artistic contest, but also a vivid symbol of unity, exchange, and integration.
