An overview of the conference.

At a conference on May 13, the ministry gathered opinions on the draft plan aimed at implementing cultural, national and family value systems, as well as standards for Vietnamese people, in a coordinated manner. The move is part of the government’s action program under Politburo's Resolution No. 80 on cultural development.

The draft plan is built around the goal of embedding these value systems more deeply into daily life while ensuring closer links between culture and socio-economic development. Its overall objective is to turn the value systems into a solid spiritual foundation guiding the awareness and behavior of individuals and families. The plan also calls for the development of evaluation criteria to ensure practical implementation.

Four key tasks were outlined, including improving policy mechanisms, promoting scientific research and international cooperation, strengthening communication and education, and building cultural environments linked to economic development. The plan also focuses on enhancing society’s resilience against negative impacts in the digital environment and preserving national identity amid international integration.

At the conference, delegates proposed clearer divisions of responsibility to avoid overlaps among ministries, sectors and local authorities. Several speakers stressed the need to build an ethical business culture, preserve traditional values in craft villages and promptly issue a detailed set of guidelines and criteria. The measures are aimed at ensuring the value systems become an internal driver of the country’s sustainable development.
