Chairman of the Hai Phong People’s Committee Le Ngoc Chau has required acceleration of urban and tourism projects in Cat Ba.

Le Ngoc Chau, Deputy Secretary of the Hai Phong Party Committee and Chairman of the city People’s Committee, on December 24 inspected the Cai Gia tourism urban area investment project and the Cat Ba Central Bay tourism and commercial service project in Cat Hai special zone.
The Cai Gia tourism urban area investment project covers an area of 171.56 ha, with total investment of 10,941.8 billion VND from Vinaconex Tourism Investment and Development JSC. The investor has committed to completing the project in 2029.
After listening to reports and reviewing progress, Chairman Le Ngoc Chau required that the project investor carefully calculate and harmonize the layout of facilities, including semi-detached villas, townhouses and hotels, ensuring appropriate construction density and landscape planning. The goal is to develop a high-end resort urban area, creating attractive tourism products for visitors to Cat Ba. He also urged the investor to mobilize all resources to complete the project on schedule as committed.

The Cat Ba Central Bay tourism and commercial service project covers an area of 457,765 m2, with total investment of 12.5 trillion VND from Phu Quoc Civil Construction Co., Ltd. The project is expected to begin operation and business activities by the second quarter of 2029. To date, construction has reached 65% of the planned progress.
Chairman Le Ngoc Chau acknowledged the efforts of the investor during the project implementation.
He suggested that the investor focus manpower and resources to urgently carry out construction and complete the project as soon as possible in order to create space and tourism highlights, contributing to promotion and attracting visitors to Cat Ba.
During construction, the investor and contractors were asked to minimize issues and recommendations related to the protection and conservation of the Ha Long Bay – Cat Ba Archipelago World Natural Heritage site. At the same time, environmental sanitation and labor safety must be ensured.

As part of his working program, Chairman Le Ngoc Chau visited and presented a gift to the Viet Hai Border Guard Task Force under the Cat Ba Border Guard Station. He praised and recognized the efforts of the task force over the past time and expressed his hope that it would continue to coordinate closely with relevant forces to maintain security and order and effectively operate the military–civilian medical station model, contributing to healthcare for local residents and tourists.
