For two consecutive days, several tourists had their lost belongings returned while visiting Cat Ba tourist area in Cat Hai special zone, Hai Phong city.

On September 21, Bui Trong Viet, residing in Ngo Quyen ward, Hai Phong city, found a black leather wallet at Duc Thanh Tran temple, Ninh Tiep hamlet, Cat Hai special zone. Inside were a driver’s license and citizen ID card under the name Pham Minh The; a motorbike registration certificate under the name Do Thi Thanh Ha; and 11.8 million VND in cash.
On the same day, Sauliere, a French national, found a handbag while visiting Cat Ba. Inside were two iPhone 13s, a motorbike key, a citizen ID card, a bank card under the name Pham Thi Ngoc Anh, and 3 million VND in cash.
Viet and Sauliere immediately brought all the found property to the special zone Police.
Upon receiving the items, the police quickly verified, contacted, and returned them in full to their owners the same day.

Earlier, on September 20, the special zone Police received an iPhone 12 from Lieutenant Le Minh Diep, an officer of the neighborhood police unit, who had found it at the Cat Ba market intersection in hamlet 14.
After receiving the phone, the on-duty officer promptly verified ownership and quickly contacted the rightful owner. The phone belonged to Luu Thi Binh, born in 1955, residing at 9/231 An Duong ward, Hai Phong city, who was visiting Cat Ba. The special zone Police confirmed and returned the phone to Binh right on September 20.
These good deeds by local residents and visitors, along with the proactive and responsible efforts of the Cat Hai special zone Police, have left a positive impression on tourists, especially international ones, reinforcing the brand of Cat Ba island as a friendly, safe, and hospitable destination.
