Over VND 22.6 billion mobilized to aid people with disabilities and orphans

In 2025, the Hai Phong Association for People with Disabilities and Orphans mobilized more than VND 22.6 billion to support social welfare activities, benefiting people with disabilities and orphans across the city.

Acting as a bridge between donors and vulnerable groups, the association aided over 37,000 people with disabilities and orphans. Key activities included visits and gift-giving during major occasions such as the Lunar New Year (Tet), Vietnam Day of Persons with Disabilities (April 18), and the Action Month for Children. These programs supported more than 30,790 individuals, with total aid valued at over VND 15 billion.

In healthcare, the association mobilized funding to organize 703 cataract surgeries and provided free medical check-ups and medication for 200 people. It also donated 175 wheelchairs, supplied prosthetic limbs, and offered health insurance cards to many people with disabilities.

In education, the association awarded 333 scholarships and donated 69 bicycles to orphaned and disabled students, helping them continue their studies.

The association also funded the construction and upgrading of nine “Houses of Compassion,” with total donations amounting to VND 1.45 billion. In addition, it organized vocational training courses for 37 people with disabilities and provided capital and livestock to support disadvantaged households.

Furthermore, resources worth over VND 1.5 billion were mobilized to help communities recover from storms and floods in several provinces. The association also donated gifts valued at more than VND 420 million to centers caring for severely wounded soldiers nationwide.
