National rowing and canoeing tournaments are taking place in Hai Phong with the participation of nearly 500 athletes from 22 strong rowing and canoeing teams nationwide.

The Hai Phong Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, in coordination with the Vietnam Canoeing, Rowing and Sailing Federation, held the opening ceremony of the 2025 National U19 and U23 Rowing Championships and the National Strong Teams Canoeing Cup on October 31.
The competition runs from October 26 to November 6 at the city Rowing Training Center, attracting nearly 500 athletes from 22 localities and sectors across the country.

The 2025 National U19 and U23 Rowing Championships include 20 events for both men and women over a 2,000-m distance, featuring single, double, and four-person categories.
The 2025 National Strong Teams Canoeing Cup features 40 events for both men and women in canoeing and kayaking, with single, double, and four-person boats competing over 200m, 500m, and 1,000m distances.

The tournament provides an opportunity for teams nationwide to compete, showcase their strength, and identify outstanding athletes for the national teams to participate in upcoming international competitions.
On the morning of October 31, several finals of the National U19 and U23 Rowing Championships took place, with rowers from strong teams such as Hai Phong, Ho Chi Minh city, Quang Ninh, and Hung Yen winning gold medals in various events.
