Maritime fee and charge collections rise 24%

Higher vessel traffic through the Hai Phong port area since the beginning of 2026 has helped drive strong growth in maritime fee and charge collections.

Since the beginning of the year, 20,595 vessel calls have been recorded in the Hai Phong port area.

Bui Nguyen Khoi, Director of the Hai Phong Maritime Administration, said maritime fee and charge collections in the Hai Phong port area had reached VND 514.3 billion as of June 12, equivalent to 73.2% of the 2026 target and up 24% from the same period in 2025.

The figures showed continued growth in vessel traffic through the Hai Phong port area.

Of the total, port administration fees generated VND 132.2 billion, up 23.45% year on year. Navigational aid charges brought in VND 373.5 billion, an increase of 24.65%, while port entry and exit fees totaled VND 8.3 billion, up 7.14%. Port security charges reached VND 120 million, up 53.8% from the same period last year.

Since the beginning of the year, 20,595 vessel calls have been recorded in the Hai Phong port area, up 5% from the same period last year.

Cargo throughput at the Hai Phong port area reached 60.1 million tons as of June 12, equivalent to 49% of the 2026 target and up 7% year-on-year.
