At the workshop, scientists focused on discussing and offering multifaceted, in-depth opinions on: heritage conservation - solutions to protect ecosystems and rare genetic resources amid climate change challenges; green economic development - building sustainable livelihood models; policy mechanisms - providing scientific basis for the Party and State to issue macro policies, helping businesses adopt responsible strategies and communities raise conservation awareness.

Not only rich in landscapes, Cat Ba National Park is also a ‘treasure’ of biodiversity with over 4,100 species, including 156 endemic, critically endangered, precious, and rare species protected by Vietnamese and international laws. Many species hold global value, such as the Cat Ba langur, Cat Ba gecko, and Cat Ba orchid, which are endemic only to Cat Ba Island, underscoring the park's special position in Vietnam's and the world's conservation systems.

Through the workshop, participants aim to more fully identify Cat Ba's globally outstanding values in aspects such as biodiversity, landscapes, geology, geomorphology, and culture-history. On that basis, participants propose effective solutions to support conservation efforts, scientific research, ecotourism development, and sustainable socio-economic growth.
