Hai Phong to focus on implementing key tasks and preparing celebrations for major anniversaries

Chairman of the Hai Phong People’s Committee Le Ngoc Chau presided over a meeting with departments, agencies, and units on August 11 on the implementation of important tasks of the city.

After listening to reports from relevant departments and units, Chairman Le Ngoc Chau emphasized several key tasks that require high focus and urgent implementation in the coming time.

Specifically, the Department of Finance must promptly prepare the 2026 budget estimate based on scientific and thorough calculations to ensure revenue sources and provide funds for investment and development. At the same time, the department should take the lead, in coordination with related units, in expediting the disbursement of public investment.

Regarding the 2025 digital transformation plan, the Chairman requested the Department of Science and Technology to review new regulations, many of which assign new responsibilities to ministries, sectors, and localities, so as to supplement the overall and specific plans to avoid overlapping tasks.

In addition, departments, agencies, and units must thoroughly review tasks after mergers to ensure alignment with Central bodies’ directives and suitability for upcoming requirements; review industrial clusters, resettlement areas, works, and projects.

For preparations to organize celebrations for the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day (September 2), the Chairman suggested that the Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism meticulously prepare for participation in the Exhibition of National Achievements and to organize information and communication activities about projects to be launched or inaugurated during the occasion.

Chairman Le Ngoc Chau required that for key and priority tasks, the Office of the city People’s Committee establish a monitoring team to oversee progress and quality, ensuring no task is left undone, delayed, or overlooked.

During monitoring, units with delays must be promptly reported, with causes identified, especially difficulties and obstacles, so that the city People’s Committee can improve the effectiveness of leadership and direction.

Departments and agencies should proactively grasp the practical situation, review internal processes, remove unnecessary contents, procedures, and steps to promote administrative reform, and enhance the responsibility of officials and civil servants in task performance.
