Hai Phong strengthens medical staff support for commune health stations

Hai Phong Deputy Chairman of the People’s Committee Vu Tien Phung has directed the city’s Department of Health to study and consider deploying highly qualified doctors and medical staff to support commune health stations.

On April 15, Vu Tien Phung, member of the Standing Committee of the Hai Phong Party Committee and Deputy Chairman of the Hai Phong People’s Committee, went on an inspection of the operations of commune health stations following the rollout of the two-tier local government.

During field inspections and after hearing reports on operations at Tien Lang Commune Health Station and the progress of the project to upgrade the Tien Lang Regional Medical Center, Deputy Chairman Vu Tien Phung acknowledged the efforts of relevant units in fulfilling assigned tasks.

For Tien Lang Commune Health Station, he urged the commune authorities to complete the consolidation of the station’s management team before April 25.

He also instructed the Department of Health to consider deploying highly qualified doctors and specialists to support commune health stations, including providing hands-on guidance at the grassroots level. In the long term, he called for strengthened training, professional development and talent attraction to improve the quality of healthcare services and meet public healthcare demands.

On infrastructure, he assigned relevant departments and agencies to support communes in reviewing existing health station facilities and developing plans for construction and upgrades.

Regarding the project to upgrade the Tien Lang Regional Medical Center, Deputy Chairman Vu Tien Phung urged contractors to strictly follow the construction schedule and aim for completion before August 19, 2026. The project broke ground in August 2025.
