By hosting national and international events and offering more distinctive experiential products, Hai Phong is gradually giving tourists more reasons to visit the port city during the low season.

Year-round tourism products
During the Miss World 2026 journey in Hai Phong, Miss Guadeloupe Annaelle Ibo said: “The preparations for the competition in Vietnam have been perfect, and everyone here is wonderful.” Meanwhile, Julia Morley CBE, Chairwoman and CEO of the Miss World Organization, said this was an opportunity for the world to learn about a highly attractive and friendly country.
From August 13 to 19, Dragon Ocean Do Son International Tourist Area was where the contestants stayed and took part in various activities. Beyond relaxing, the contestants directly explored the nature, culture, cuisine and daily life of Do Son. These close-up experiences created a different image of the beauty queens while showcasing Do Son not only as a seaside destination but also as a place with a diverse ecosystem and range of experiential products.
This is also the direction Do Son is focusing on for the fall-winter season. Alongside beach tourism, the locality is developing marine-island ecotourism, cultural and spiritual tourism, festivals, sports, conferences and seminars, and resort tourism.
Do Son is not alone. Cat Ba also has great potential in the fall-winter season, which is suitable for international tourists and young travelers who enjoy exploring nature. This trend is also taking shape among domestic tourists.
Efforts to refresh tourism products

Following the merger with Hai Duong Province, Hai Phong City now has a particular advantage in bringing together islands and sea, a port city, ecological agriculture, and a system of internationally valuable cultural and natural heritage. According to Pham Van Thuy, Deputy Director General of the Vietnam National Authority of Tourism, Hai Phong's tourism advantages following the merger have not only increased in scale but also been multiplied by the diversity of its tourism product lines.
Connectivity is one of the important conditions. Hai Phong has road, sea and river transport networks, as well as Cat Bi International Airport, providing convenient connections with major tourist source markets domestically and internationally. The city needs to capitalize on this advantage to expand markets while strengthening promotion in key markets such as Northeast Asia, Europe and India, thereby increasing international tourist arrivals.
From a business perspective, Nguyen Thi Ha, General Director of Hai Ha Travel, said that to “thaw out” the year-end tourism season, Hai Phong needs to simultaneously refresh its products and complete its service ecosystem. The city needs to maintain stable international air routes, develop golf tourism targeting visitors from Northeast Asia and Europe, promote MICE tourism, resort tourism and wellness tourism and, at the same time, connect stopover destinations, agricultural products and local specialties to increase opportunities for “on-site exports.”
Along with this, the city should focus on strongly developing spaces for nighttime entertainment, shopping, food and leisure. Walking streets, culinary spaces and cultural and artistic programs will not only supplement products during the low season but also extend operating hours and increase tourist spending.
