Hai Phong Party chief works with LG Group in South Korea

A delegation from Hai Phong, led by Secretary of the city Party Committee Le Tien Chau, had a meeting with senior leaders of LG Group in Seoul as part of the delegation’s working program in South Korea.

LG is a major South Korean conglomerate with many subsidiaries in Hai Phong.

Secretary of the city Party Committee Le Tien Chau highly appreciated LG Group’s efforts in implementing its projects in the city.

Hai Phong always values and listens to feedback from investors and major corporations, promptly identifying and removing obstacles. The city appreciates and recognizes LG’s objective opinions and positive assessments of Hai Phong’s investment and business environment during a recent meeting with Vietnam’s senior leaders as part of their working trip to South Korea. This helps the South Korean business community better understand Hai Phong’s continuously improving investment and business environment.

Hai Phong hopes LG Group will continue expanding its investment and business activities, considering the city as the group’s “base” in Vietnam for producing LG’s key products for the international market.

The city is committed to continuing to accompany and create the most favorable conditions for LG to maintain and effectively implement projects in Hai Phong for sustainable development.

The city leader suggested that LG Group consider expanding investment in new projects in Hai Phong, especially in its free trade zone and the southern coastal economic zone; encourage partners and suppliers in LG’s production chain to invest in Hai Phong and connect with local enterprises to participate more deeply in the group’s supply chain.

He also proposed that LG Group continue to pay greater attention to researching, investing in, and building a center for research, development, innovation, and technology transfer in Hai Phong, serving as a model to lead other foreign-invested enterprises.

Representatives of LG Group appreciated that the city’s leaders have always valued, cared for, listened to, and accompanied the group in addressing difficulties and obstacles in the production and business process in Hai Phong. They affirmed that in recent years, thanks to the city’s close attention and support, LG companies in Hai Phong have maintained stable production.

Hai Phong is a strategic city in LG Group’s development plan, as evidenced by the group’s additional investment of more than 2 billion USD into projects in the city. LG has also strengthened cooperation with Hai Phong for community activities and workforce training. The group pledged to continue investment in Hai Phong, ensure benefits and policies for employees, and step up search for domestic partners.

LG Group requested the city’s support on several issues related to tariffs, electricity supply, and factory premises.
