Speaking at an investment promotion conference in Belgium, Secretary of the Hai Phong Party Committee Le Tien Chau affirmed that Hai Phong continues to strengthen its leading position in the investment and business environment.

Continuing their working program in Belgium, Secretary of the Hai Phong Party Committee Le Tien Chau and the city delegation attended the Hai Phong – Antwerp Investment Promotion Conference 2025, themed “Exploring new-generation investment destinations in Hai Phong” on the afternoon of December 4 (local time).

In attendance at the conference was Nguyen Van Thao, Ambassador of Vietnam to Belgium and concurrently to Luxembourg, and Head of the Vietnamese Mission to the European Union.
On the Belgian side were Ait Daoud Nabille, Vice Mayor of Antwerp city and Baron Luc Bertrand, Chairman of Ackermans & van Haaren (AvH), the parent company of Deep C Holdings, along with representatives of Belgian investors.

Addressing the conference, Secretary of the Hai Phong Party Committee Le Tien Chau emphasized the city’s unified political determination under the principle: “The success of businesses is the success of the government; the work of businesses is also the work of the city.”

He cited impressive figures that reinforce investors’ confidence: Hai Phong is the only locality in Vietnam to maintain double-digit growth for 11 consecutive years. The city’s economic scale ranks third nationwide and has attracted more than USD 50 billion in foreign direct investment with around 1,800 projects from 44 countries and territories. In 2024, Hai Phong continued to lead the country in the business and investment environment through competitiveness and administration indicators like PCI, PAPI, and SIPAS.

Bruno Jaspaert, General Director of Deep C Industrial Zones, announced a new step in the enterprise’s development strategy in Vietnam. Accordingly, after 10 years of operation, the firm plans to expand its scale by surveying and establishing a new industrial park in the northern area of Hai Phong.

Affirming the project’s potential, Jaspaert made a strong commitment to the city leadership and investors: “If Deep C takes on this new area, I guarantee the project will be fully occupied in less than seven years.” He also outlined a vision to transform the new site into a big data hub, stressing that Hai Phong is the ideal location to realize major ambitions in high-tech industry.

Within the framework of the investment promotion conference, a memorandum of understanding was signed between the Hai Phong People’s Committee and Deep C Industrial Zones.
Earlier, Secretary of the Hai Phong Party Committee Le Tien Chau and the delegation held a working session with Baron Luc Bertrand, AvH Chairman, and attended a formal reception with the group’s senior leadership.

The Secretary and the delegation also visited the Port of Antwerp, part of the Antwerp-Bruges port system, one of Europe’s largest ports and a central hub in global supply chains.
