The ‘Hai Phong Go’ digital platform, together with Resolution No. 14-NQ/TU, is opening up new opportunities for the tourism sector, helping businesses optimize costs and enhance visitor experiences.

A breakthrough through digital transformation
At Kuroba Trading, Tourism and Services Joint Stock Company, preparing an itinerary for an international group visiting Lan Ha Bay in early November has become much more convenient. Instead of searching through dozens of paper documents or sending staff to survey each destination, tour operators can now finalize itineraries with just a few steps using software systems and the ‘Hai Phong Go’ app.
With quick access to VR360 data and 40 standardized audio-guided videos covering local tourist attractions, the company has reduced tour-planning time by more than 30%. Routes between attractions can also be calculated more accurately, helping minimize waiting times and unexpected transport costs. This gives tour operators greater flexibility while ensuring a smoother experience for visitors from the moment they begin researching their trips.
Digital data not only helps Hai Phong’s travel companies streamline their workflows but also supports the development of more competitive tourism products. Digitized information on the historical and cultural significance and potential of each destination enables businesses to design more logical and convenient itineraries while reducing unnecessary intermediary costs.

An urgent need driven by realities
In recent years, Hai Phong’s tourism sector has achieved significant results, gradually strengthening its position within the Red River Delta’s tourism network. The city currently has more than 900 tourist accommodation establishments, including 18 four- and five-star hotels, and 238 tourist vessels of various types. The sector provides jobs for nearly 30,000 workers.

Hai Phong is promoting green transition combined with digital transformation. By 2030, all tourist areas and attractions, accommodation establishments and coastal service businesses are expected to stop using single-use plastic products and hard-to-degrade plastic bags. All tourist transport vehicles on Cat Ba Island are also expected to run on electricity or other green energy sources.
Comprehensive solutions to strengthen the travel sector
To achieve these goals, Resolution No. 14-NQ/TU emphasizes the application of science and technology, digital transformation and the development of smart tourism.
Hai Phong city will focus on building a smart tourism ecosystem with integrated service data to support management, operations, businesses and visitors. It will also accelerate the digitization of activities at tourist areas and attractions, prioritizing world heritage sites and national tourist areas.

The city is also focusing on helping tourism businesses build strong brands, modernize their management capabilities and take a leading role in destination management and the development of integrated travel platforms.
Other priorities include expanding e-commerce in tourism, promoting non-cash payments and supporting small and medium-sized enterprises in their digital transformation. The city also aims to make tourism service prices and products publicly available and transparent on a shared digital platform, enabling real-time monitoring.
