In response to shifting telecommunications demand during the Tet holiday, service providers have proactively prepared technical plans and expanded nationwide network capacity to ensure stable connectivity for the Lunar New Year 2026.

A VNPT representative said telecom usage patterns typically shift during Tet. In recent years, users have increasingly favored mobile broadband data services such as internet access, OTT platforms, and social media, while traditional voice and SMS traffic has continued to decline as alternative communication channels become more widespread.

VNPT has increased total interprovincial transmission capacity to nearly 52,000 Gbps, representing an approximate 14% rise. The company has also deployed around 300 mobile and temporary base stations in areas expected to attract large crowds, including public squares, parks, pedestrian streets, fireworks venues, and festival locations.

VNPT’s technical teams will remain on 24/7 standby throughout the Tet holiday, ready to promptly handle technical incidents and potential cyber threats, thereby ensuring uninterrupted communications.
