The 2026 Hai Phong Digital Transformation Forum identified solutions for applying data, artificial intelligence (AI) and automation in practice.

The Hai Phong Department of Science and Technology held the 2026 Hai Phong Digital Transformation Forum themed “Data – AI – Automation: Strategic drivers for digital economy development and smart cities” on October 8.
In his opening remarks, Vice Chairman of the City People's Council Bui Duc Quang emphasized that science, technology, innovation and digital transformation must become key drivers of a new growth model, higher productivity, improved governance and greater competitiveness for Hai Phong.

He called on relevant departments, agencies and units to continue improving data governance models, prioritizing the development, standardization, integration and sharing of core data sources to ensure that data is accurate, complete, secure and accessible for use.
Through presentations and discussion sessions, experts, managers and businesses exchanged views on practical solutions suited to Hai Phong's characteristics as a port, industrial and logistics city.

As part of the forum, the Department of Science and Technology signed a cooperation agreement with the National Economics University, focusing on research and measurement of the contributions of science, technology and innovation to economic growth, as well as the circular economy, productivity and quality.
The department also signed a cooperation agreement with Starlink Services Vietnam Co., Ltd. to receive and hand over Starlink satellite user terminals and services to Bach Long Vi and Cat Hai special zones. The initiative will provide an additional communications option for offshore and island areas, supporting leadership, operations and responses to climate change, natural disasters and other emergencies, particularly when existing telecommunications infrastructure fails.

The program also showcased Hai Phong's “digital connect” technology products for 2026. Demonstrations of smart delivery robots and humanoid robots illustrated the potential of autonomous technologies and automation in delivery, interaction and service activities across different environments.
