Contractors step up construction of the Cat Bi International Airport cargo terminal.

According to the project contractor, as of late February 2026 the main construction components had been largely completed. The project is now moving into the final stage. Construction teams are focusing on equipment installation and completing the parking apron, office areas and waiting facilities. The site for the technical building has been handed over and is scheduled for completion in April 2026.

The road linking the terminal with Bui Vien Street is being accelerated. The investor and contractors are paying close attention to flight safety requirements as the project is located adjacent to the airport’s operational area.

The Cat Bi International Airport cargo terminal project is invested by Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV). Built on an area of 86,776 m², the project has a total investment of about VND 725 billion. The single-storey steel-structure facility has a designed capacity of 100,000 tons of cargo per year, with provision for expansion to 250,000 tons/year.

Early completion of the cargo terminal is expected to enhance air logistics capacity, meet rising import-export demand, and facilitate the development of aviation services and supply chains in the city in the coming years.
