The Ninh Giang Inland Waterway Port Project is oriented to become a hub for the import, export, storage and distribution of goods, helping reduce logistics costs and promote investment attraction.

The People’s Committee of Khuc Thua Du Commune, Hai Phong City has approved a 1/500 blueprint for the Ninh Giang Inland Waterway Port Project, with a total area of more than 27 hectares.
Under the plan, the port is located in Khuc Thua Du Commune, about 2 km downstream from Hiep Bridge.
The port is oriented to become a hub serving the import, export, storage, management and distribution of goods for socio-economic development, as well as industrial parks and clusters in Khuc Thua Du Commune and neighboring areas. It will also receive and handle containers and other types of goods.

The establishment of the port is expected to optimize the supply chain, shorten transportation time, reduce logistics costs and enhance the competitiveness of manufacturing businesses in the area.
Under the Prime Minister’s Decision No. 1829/QD-TTg dated October 31, 2021, the Ninh Giang Inland Waterway Port is planned to be capable of receiving ships and barges with a tonnage of up to 2,000 tons by 2030.
The Ninh Giang Inland Waterway Port is identified as one of important infrastructure facilities, adding capacity for inland waterway transportation and logistics in the area, thereby supporting production development and goods circulation and creating conditions to attract investment into industrial parks and clusters in Khuc Thua Du Commune and surrounding areas.
