Widespread thunderstorms to affect Hai Phong

A convective cloud mass moving inland from the sea brought rain to many parts of Hai Phong in the early morning of July 24, according to the city Hydrometeorological Station.

The cloud system was forecast to produce thunderstorms in the communes, wards, and special zones of Cat Hai, Do Son, Hai An, Kien An, Duong Kinh, An Duong, Thuy Nguyen, Hong Bang, Ngo Quyen, Le Chan, An Lao, Kien Thuy, Tien Lang, Vinh Bao, Kinh Mon, Kim Thanh, etc. and surrounding areas.

Residents are advised to remain alert for tornadoes, lightning, and strong gusts during thunderstorms, which may uproot trees, damage homes, transport infrastructure, and other facilities, posing risks to public safety. The natural disaster risk level for tornadoes, lightning, and hail is Level 1.

The forecast for July 24 indicates mostly cloudy skies across Hai Phong, with occasional showers and thunderstorms. Moderate rain is expected in many areas, while some locations may experience heavy downpours. Tornadoes, lightning, and strong winds remain possible throughout the day.

The northwestern and southwestern parts of the city are forecast to see cloudy skies with showers and thunderstorms, with localized heavy rain. Temperatures will range from 23°C to 31°C, with light winds.

In the coastal areas, including Cat Hai special zone and Do Son, skies will remain mostly cloudy with rain, moderate showers, and scattered thunderstorms. Some places may experience heavy rainfall. South to southeast winds will blow at Force 2 or 3, with temperatures between 25°C and 31°C.
