Widespread thunderstorms are forecast across Hai Phong after a convective cloud system moves northeast from Hung Yen toward the city, according to the Hai Phong Hydro-Meteorological Station.

The station warns that the thunderstorms may be accompanied by tornadoes, lightning and strong wind gusts. The risk of severe weather, including tornadoes, lightning and hail, is assessed at Level 1.
For the rest of Thursday and overnight, Hai Phong is expected to see mostly cloudy skies with periods of rain, showers and thunderstorms, interspersed with sunny intervals during the day.
Temperatures are forecast to range from 27 to 32 degrees Celsius in the administrative centre and around the City Theatre, 27 to 32 degrees in the northwestern part of the city, 28 to 33 degrees in the southwest, and 29 to 32 degrees in coastal areas, including the Cat Hai special zone and Do Son.
Over the Gulf of Tonkin and the Bach Long Vi special zone, scattered showers and thunderstorms are forecast. Visibility is expected to exceed 10 km, falling to 4-10 km in rain.
Residents are advised to monitor the latest weather forecasts and warnings, avoid outdoor activities during thunderstorms, and take precautions to protect lives and property, particularly in areas with many trees, construction sites and coastal aquaculture areas.
