The Hai Phong agricultural product traceability system (HPAP) delivers practical and effective benefits for regulatory agencies, businesses, cooperatives, and farmers.
On the afternoon of April 24, the Hai Phong Forest Management and Agricultural Extension Board held a conference on “Receiving and deploying the Hai Phong agricultural product traceability system (HPAP).”
The Hai Phong agricultural product traceability system (hpap.vn) was established in 2017, with its interface designed by Digital Technology and Graphic Printing Joint Stock Company.
Initially, the system was managed and operated by the former Hai Phong Department of Agriculture and Rural Development. It was later assigned to several functional units within the sector for maintenance across different periods.
Currently, the Hai Phong Forest Management and Agricultural Extension Board has been tasked by the Department of Agriculture and Environment to receive, manage, and maintain the system’s operation.
The HPAP platform is Hai Phong’s agricultural traceability system, aimed at enhancing the value and brand of local agricultural products, while creating a transparent journey for them to reach broader markets.
HPAP enables regulatory agencies to access information and closely monitor the agricultural production process. For businesses and cooperatives, it helps protect their brand and expand market access.
Consumers can also use the platform to look up detailed information about agricultural products.
The system applies a closed-loop data solution with core features, including the development of electronic logs that allow farmers to update all information related to the production process, manage growing area codes, packaging, and security technologies, along with smart traceability labels.
The platform displays categorized data for ease of use by authorities, cooperatives, and enterprises, including guidance, registration, introductions, news, and agricultural documents.
Leaders of the Department of Agriculture and Environment have requested the Forest Management and Agricultural Extension Board to organize and operate the system in a safe, efficient, and regulation-compliant manner.
Authorities will continue selecting key products and concentrated production areas to participate in the HPAP system. The implementation of the traceability system will be integrated with sectoral programs and tasks such as developing concentrated production zones, OCOP products, and production in line with VietGAP and GlobalGAP standards.
On this occasion, representatives from the Digital Technology and Graphic Printing Joint Stock Company provided training and guidance on accessing and using the HPAP platform, with a focus on the application for generating traceability labels for enterprises and cooperatives.
A total of 11 products from six cooperatives were demonstrated with activated traceability features on the HPAP platform.
