Navy Region 1 Command receives first-class Fatherland Protection Order

Navy Region 1 Command held a ceremony on October 22 to celebrate its 50th founding anniversary (October 26, 1975 – 2025) and receive a first-class Fatherland Protection Order.

Attending the ceremony were Standing Vice Chairman of the Hai Phong People’s Committee Le Anh Quan and Vice Chairwoman of the Quang Ninh People’s Committee Nguyen Thi Hanh, among others.

Speaking at the ceremony, Rear Admiral Nguyen Van Bach, Deputy Commander and Chief of Staff of the Vietnam People’s Navy, congratulated and commended the significant achievements and contributions of generations of officers, soldiers, workers, and defense employees of Navy Region 1 throughout different periods in the revolutionary cause and in managing and safeguarding the sovereignty of the northern seas and islands over the past five decades.

Facing new requirements and missions, Rear Admiral Bach urged the unit to continue maintaining a firm grasp of the situation, effectively advising higher levels on policies and measures, and handling all situations properly to ensure strong management and protection of maritime sovereignty.

He emphasized the need to promote overall strength, build an all-round strong, exemplary and typical unit, and enhance the construction of a revolutionary, regular, elite, and modern force in a compact and efficient direction.

Overcoming the hardships of its early days, during the resistance war against the US aggressors, officers and soldiers of Navy Region 1, together with the Northern people, bravely fought and achieved victories in the first naval battles on August 2 and 5, 1964. These victories contributed to defeating two US destructive wars against the North and thwarting the enemy’s air and naval sabotage plots.

In the new era, Navy Region 1 has promptly advised and proposed to higher authorities appropriate policies and measures to firmly defend the assigned sea and island areas.

On the occasion of its 50th founding anniversary, Navy Region 1 Command was honored to receive the first-class Fatherland Protection Order in recognition of its outstanding achievements in training, combat readiness, force building, national defense consolidation, and contribution to the cause of building socialism and safeguarding the Fatherland.
