According to the Hai Phong Department of Health, in the first six months of 2026, the city provided periodic health examinations and free screening to more than 2.19 million people, equal to about 52% of the resident population.

This outcome followed implementation of Prime Ministerial Directive No. 17/CT-TTg dated May 6, 2026, on organizing periodic health examinations or free health screening for the public.

To date, 100% of communes, wards and special administrative zones have launched health checkup programs. Priority groups included children, students, the elderly, workers, armed forces personnel and other vulnerable populations.

To ensure the city completes health checkups for all residents in 2026, the Department of Health is coordinating with the People’s Committees of communes, wards and special zones to develop detailed local plans, clearly specifying timelines, progress targets and responsibilities for each unit.

The city is pushing digital transformation by standardizing data, linking electronic health records and integrating the VNeID application. Tthis will gradually build a comprehensive national health database to support management and governance.

Authorities are required to complete financing mechanisms to ensure timely budget allocation, mobilize legal resources effectively and encourage socialization to sustain periodic health examination services.
