According to the Department of Industry and Trade, in 2025, the city’s export turnover reached USD 50.1 billion, up 8.5% compared to 2024.

The city’s export markets are concentrated in major destinations such as Korea, the United States and the European Union, with key export groups including electronics, leather and footwear, and textiles and garments.

Among these, Asia continued to be the main export market for Hai Phong’s businesses, accounting for more than 80% of the city’s total export turnover. Korea held the largest share, representing nearly 30% of total exports.

The American market accounted for around 10%, with the United States alone making up nearly 9%, while the European market maintained a share of close to 6% of the city’s total export value.

The structure of export commodities continued to improve in a positive direction, with a reduction in the share of raw exports and an increase in processed and industrial products, enabling the city’s goods to participate more deeply in global production and supply chains.

Electronics and electronic components accounted for approximately 45.7% of total exports; machinery and spare parts made up 13.6%; textiles and garments 8.5%; and footwear 5.5%.

In 2025, the city’s export activities capitalized on advantages from the CPTPP, reflected in a 1.57% increase in total import–export turnover with CPTPP member countries compared to 2024, while maintaining a trade surplus of more than USD 1.59 billion.

In particular, trade with markets such as Canada, Mexico and Peru rose by 8.4%, with exports surging by 24.95% and imports declining by 59.4%.

For 2026, the city’s Department of Industry and Trade has set a target of USD 52 billion in export turnover. To achieve this goal, the sector will actively organize events on economic integration, export promotion and logistics; develop solutions to support market diversification; and continue to intensify efforts to explore and seek cooperation opportunities in emerging and potential markets.
