To meet the surge in travel demand during Tet 2026, the Hanoi - Haiphong train route will add extra carriages and adjust schedules for select trains.

To accommodate passengers’ increasing Tet travel needs, the Hanoi - Haiphong rail line adds additional passenger and baggage carriages from February 11 (Lunar December 24) through February 22 (Lunar January 6).
The rail sector will continue discounted fares for eligible social-policy beneficiaries per regulations. Each passenger receives only the highest applicable discount, without stacking multiple policies.
Train schedules are adjusted for Tet. Specifically, trains HP15 (Hai Duong - Haiphong) and HP16 (Haiphong - Hai Duong) will suspend during Tet holidays. On February 16 (Lunar December 29), trains HP2 and LP7 will stop operation. On February 17 (Lunar January 1), trains LP2 and HP1 will halt.
Except for announced suspensions, other days Haiphong to Hanoi trains depart at: LP2 (6:05 AM), LP6 (9:10 AM), HP4 (2:35 PM), LP8 (3:00 PM), LP10 (4:20 PM), HP16 (5:30 PM), HP2 (6:40 PM). Reverse direction, Hanoi to Haiphong: HP15 (7:17 AM), HP1 (8:25 AM), LP9 (10:07 AM), LP3 (12:00 PM), HP3 (12:45 PM), LP5 (6:00 PM), LP7 (8:55 PM).
