Haiphong's People's Committee has issued the city's Green Tourism Criteria to drive green transformation in tourism, promote sustainable and eco-friendly development, and boost the destination's competitiveness.
Effective from December 30, 2025, the Green Tourism Criteria detail central and local policies on green growth and sustainability, aligning with Vietnam's National Green Growth Strategy and Haiphong's Green Growth Action Plan for 2021-2030, vision to 2050.
Each set features sustainability themes with specific criteria, clear scoring scales, and benchmarks for basic, advanced, and outstanding green tourism recognition.
Hai Phong People’s Committee assigns the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to lead implementation, coordinating with relevant agencies and the city Tourism Association. This includes guidance, monitoring, inspections, and periodic evaluations. Qualifying tourism businesses will gain priority in promotions, marketing, stimulus programs, competitions, awards, and city green growth initiatives.
