A tropical depression has intensified into Storm Comay, the fourth in the East Sea in 2025.
The Civil Defense Command of Hai Phong city has issued an urgent directive requesting military forces, agencies, and localities to take proactive measures in response to Comay, the fourth storm in the East Sea in 2025.
According to the document, a tropical depression intensified into Storm Comay on the evening of July 23.
In accordance with the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment’s Directive No. 4711/CĐ-BNNMT dated July 23, the city Civil Defense Command required local civil defense commands, departments, agencies, and units to closely monitor weather forecasts, warnings, and developments related to the storm.
Vessel owners, captains, and operators at sea must be promptly informed of the storm’s location, direction, and progress so that they can take precautions, move out of dangerous areas, or avoid entering them altogether.
Rescue and response forces and equipment must be on standby for deployment when needed.
Hai Phong Coastal Radio Station, local media outlets, and grassroots radio and television networks are also required to enhance coverage of Storm Comay’s developments, ensuring that local authorities, vessel owners at sea, and residents receive timely information to take proactive safety measures.
