To address the shortage of blood for emergency care and treatment, the Hai Phong Universities’ Blood Donation Club, in collaboration with the Hematology and Blood Transfusion Center of Viet Tiep Friendship Hospital, organized a blood donation campaign from August 12 to 15.

The program drew hundreds of participants, including lecturers, students, and citizens. With the message “Every drop of blood given, a life saved,” the blood donation festival “Red Drops of White Blouses”, organized by the Youth Union, the Student Association, and the Blood Donation Club of Hai Phong University of Medicine and Pharmacy, collected 489 blood units.

The “Red Drops of White Blouses” event is held quarterly, each time receiving 500 – 700 blood units, totaling around 2,200 – 2,500 units annually.

At the fixed donation point of Vietnam Maritime University, nearly 100 blood units were collected. Participants received free health check-ups, blood tests, medical consultations, blood donation certificates, gifts, and light refreshments.

The donated blood will be distributed to hospitals across Hai Phong for emergency and treatment purposes.

The fixed blood donation point at Vietnam Maritime University has been operating since 2021 on the first floor of Building C2, open every Thursday and twice a month. It attracts not only university staff, students, and volunteers but also many city residents - compassionate individuals embodying the spirit of solidarity and mutual support.
