The labor market in Hai Phong has remained stable following the Lunar New Year holiday, with no major fluctuations recorded, according to the Hai Phong Department of Home Affairs.

The rate of employees returning to work in Hai Phong has reached 98.9% following the Lunar New Year holiday, the Department of Home Affairs said.
Some workers have yet to resume work due to job changes, maternity or sick leave, while others from outside the city have requested additional leave for personal matters. A number of firms have temporarily delayed resuming operations due to raw material shortages or a lack of early-year orders.
Labor demand in 2026 is projected to exceed 200,000 workers, the department said. Immediate post-holiday recruitment demand stands at 17,284 positions.
Manufacturing and processing account for the largest share of hiring needs at 6,285 workers, followed by electronics (3,448), textiles and footwear (2,836), services (1,839) and construction (1,224).
