Hai Phong seeks to deepen practical cooperation with French partners

On the morning of July 16, Vice Chairman of the Hai Phong City People's Committee Hoang Minh Cuong had a courtesy meeting with a working delegation of the Embassy of the French Republic in Vietnam, led by Mr. Jean-Alexandre Egea, Economic Counsellor and Head of the Economic Department of the French Embassy, on the visit to Hai Phong City.

Vice Chairman Hoang Minh Cuong expressed his pleasure in welcoming the delegation in the context of Viet Nam - France relations continuously developing, especially since 2024 when the two countries upgraded their ties to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. The visit has a great significance, helping to further strengthen the friendship between the two countries and creating momentum to promote cooperation between Hai Phong and French localities and businesses in economics, trade, investment and other areas of mutual interest.

At present, Hai Phong is home to 6 French FDI projects with a total registered capital of 55.5 million USD, focusing on the manufacturing and assembly of electronic products, management consulting services, ... Bilateral trade turnover in 2025 reached approximately 119.52 million USD.

Thanking the city’s leaders for warm reception, Mr. Jean-Alexandre Egea assessed Hai Phong as a safe and efficient investment destination for foreign businesses, including French enterprises. He affirmed that the delegation would actively provide information and introduce French companies to explore investment opportunities in Hai Phong; promote linkages in the restoration and preservation of French architectural works in the city; and step up cooperation between localities, thereby contributing to deepening economic and investment cooperation between the two sides.
