A heatwave affecting the northern port city of Hai Phong is forecast to continue through June 8, the city's meteorological agency said.

Hot and dry weather is expected across the city on June 3, with daytime temperatures reaching 35-38 degrees Celsius.
In the city center, temperatures will range from 28 C to 35 C.
The city's northwestern and southwestern areas are also forecast to experience hot weather, with daytime highs of around 36 C and overnight lows of 28-29 C.
Coastal districts, including Cat Hai and Do Son, are expected to record the highest temperatures in the city, reaching up to 38 C.
Over the Gulf of Tonkin and the island district of Bach Long Vi, no rainfall is forecast. Visibility is expected to exceed 10 km. Temperatures will range from 28 C to 37 C.
Humidity across the city is forecast at 70%-80%.
Meteorologists warned that prolonged hot weather and lower humidity could increase the risk of fires in residential areas as electricity demand rises, while also heightening the threat of forest fires.
Residents were advised to limit outdoor activities between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m., stay hydrated and take precautions against heat-related illnesses, including heat exhaustion and heatstroke.
