Hai Phong exceeds 2025 voluntary blood donation target

The voluntary blood donation movement continues to spread widely among cadres, civil servants, public employees and workers, attracting strong participation.

The Hai Phong Steering Committee for Mobilization of Voluntary Blood Donation organized the 2025 Voluntary Blood Donation Day for departments, agencies and organizations at the Viet Tiep Friendship Labor Cultural Palace on December 30.

The event attracted more than 1,000 cadres, civil servants, public employees and workers from departments, agencies, organizations and enterprises in the city to register for participation. Finally, 710 units of qualified blood were collected.

Thanks to the determination and efforts of the entire political system and the strong sense of responsibility of the city’s residents, a total of 61,159 units of blood were collected in 2025, exceeding the target assigned by the National Steering Committee, ensuring adequate and timely supply of safe blood for emergency care and treatment at medical facilities.

To ensure the voluntary blood donation movement continues to develop in a stable and sustainable manner in 2026, the city Steering Committee for Mobilization of Voluntary Blood Donation has called on Party committees, authorities, steering committees at all levels, departments, agencies, organizations, localities, units and the business community to proactively develop long-term plans for voluntary blood donation.

The Hai Phong Red Cross Society, the standing body of the city Steering Committee for Mobilization of Voluntary Blood Donation, will continue to play its core role and closely coordinate with the Department of Health and relevant units in communication, mobilization and organization of voluntary blood donation, with a focus on improving the quality and safety of blood transfusion and the sustainability of the movement.
