Vietnam’s railway sector has opened ticket sales on multiple routes for the 2026 summer travel to meet rising demand from passengers. Ticket sales run from May 15 to August 16.

Five pairs of North–South “Thong Nhat' trains will operate regularly between Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, including SE1/SE2, SE3/SE4, SE5/SE6, SE7/SE8 and SE9/SE10.
On other routes, services include NA1/NA2 between Hanoi and Vinh; QB1/QB2 between Hanoi and Dong Hoi; high-quality SE19/SE20 between Hanoi and Da Nang; SE21/SE22 between Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang; SE30/SE29 between Ho Chi Minh City and Quy Nhon; SNT2/SNT1 between Ho Chi Minh City and Nha Trang; and SPT2/SPT1 between Ho Chi Minh City and Phan Thiet.
The Da Nang–Hue route will operate two daily pairs of “Heritage Connection” trains HĐ1/2 and HĐ3/4, while the Hanoi–Lao Cai route will run three pairs daily, including SP3/SP4 and SP7/SP8.
On the Hanoi–Hai Phong route, four pairs of “Hoa Phuong Do” trains (HP1/2, LP5/6, LP2/3, LP7/8) will operate daily. Additional services (LP9, LP10, HD2) and extra carriages will be arranged on weekends to meet higher travel demand.
The Da Lat–Trai Mat route will run multiple daily services, including DL1/2, DL3/4, DL7/8, DL9/10 and DL11/12, with additional DL5/6 services to serve passengers.
Discount policies include a 90% fare reduction for people with pre-August 1945 revolutionary service and Vietnamese Heroic Mothers; 30% for state contributors; 30% for passengers with severe disabilities (including foreigners); and 15% for Vietnamese citizens aged 60 and above.
Children under six travel free when sharing a seat with an accompanying adult, with each adult ticket allowing one child free of charge. From the second child onwards, a child ticket is required. Vietnamese children aged from 6 to under 10 enjoy a 25% discount, while students are eligible for a 10% discount, excluding postgraduate students.
The railway sector is also offering various promotions, including a 10% discount on return tickets for individual passengers meeting round-trip conditions, and a 15% discount on return tickets for SP2, SP4 and SP8 services on the Hanoi–Lao Cai route.
Group bookings of 20 passengers or more made one to 19 days in advance will receive discounts ranging from 3% to 9%, depending on group size.
