Vietnam named guest of honor at Multicultural Festival in Germany

The festival was held in Augsburg, the third-largest city in the state of Bavaria and a beautiful historic city, featuring more than 20 booths representing various countries. The event celebrated cultural diversity and promoted exchanges among communities living in the area.

The Vietnamese booth attracted a large number of visitors with traditional dishes such as fresh spring rolls, fried spring rolls, and bun cha, along with displays of the ao dai, non, and cultural performances showcasing Vietnam’s national identity. These activities helped promote Vietnamese culture, strengthen mutual understanding, and enhance connections between the Vietnamese community, German residents, and international friends.

The program was organized by Huong Viet Magazine in coordination with the Vietnam–Germany Association in Schwaben and the Vietnamese Association in Freising, Bavaria.

During their visit to the Vietnamese booth, Ms. Claudia Roth, a Member of the German Federal Parliament, and Mr. Martin Schenkelberg, Head of the Integration and Social Affairs Office of Augsburg City, highly appreciated the contributions of the Vietnamese community in promoting culture, fostering people-to-people exchanges, and strengthening friendship between Vietnam and Germany. The two guests also expressed their impressions of Vietnam’s traditional cuisine and distinctive cultural beauty.

The presence of Vietnam at the 2026 Augsburg Multicultural Summer Festival further highlights the role of cultural diplomacy and people-to-people exchanges in strengthening mutual understanding and trust, contributing to the consolidation of friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and Germany, as well as with international partners.
