The owner of a bakery on Da Nang Street (Ngo Quyen Ward) said heart-shaped chocolate cakes decorated with red roses, cherries, strawberries, and blueberries are among the most popular items. Cake prices range from 150,000 to 450,000 VND. Notably, handmade products are gaining strong popularity, instead of traditional fresh flowers.
Alongside traditional items, recent Valentine’s Day trends show that consumers increasingly prioritize practical gifts. Scarves, perfumes, watches, fashion items, footwear, cosmetics, and skincare products have become popular choices, especially among young couples.
Many restaurants and cafés have also launched special promotions for couples, offering discounts of 10%–30%, further adding to the Valentine’s Day atmosphere.

Despite the rise in demand, many customers are carefully considering their spending as the holiday approaches Tet. Rather than luxury gifts, shoppers are increasingly opting for moderately priced items featuring refined designs and a high level of personalization.

Ms. Ngo Thi Van Anh, a resident of Vinh Niem apartment building, shared that she and her husband usually celebrate the occasion by dining out and watching movies together. This year, however, because Valentine’s Day is close to Tet, they plan to go shopping together and prepare a warm family meal at home.
Amid the busy pace of the year-end season, a bouquet of flowers, a small cake, or simply a cozy family dinner on Valentine’s Day becomes a gentle reminder for people to slow down, care for one another, and cherish their loved ones.
