After the merger of Hai Phong city and Hai Duong province, Yet Kieu commune is home to four nationally recognized historical and cultural sites, which are ancient communal houses and temples that exude a peaceful and timeless charm.
Yet Kieu is proud of its rich heritage, including four national-level cultural and historical sites. They serve as indispensable centers of cultural, religious, and spiritual life for local residents and symbolize the wisdom, cultural traditions, patriotism, and solidarity of the people of Yet Kieu. In the photo: Quat temple, dedicated to famed general Yet Kieu in Ha Bi village, is one of the four prominent sitesQuat temple, with its unique traditional design and imposing architecture, sits on a spacious plot overlooking the gentle and poetic Dinh Dao riverThe temple, which honors famed general Yet Kieu, has a history spanning more than 700 years and has been renovated and restored multiple times. Inside, many ancient and valuable artifacts are preserved, each connected to fascinating local legends. The temple festival is usually held on the full moons of the eighth and first lunar months, beginning with ceremonies honoring general Yet Kieu, followed by diverse festival activities, including traditional rowing competitionsDuoi temple, located in Quynh Hue village, was built during the Ly Dynasty and is considered one of the rare ancient temples remaining from the former Hai Duong province. It is one of Yet Kieu’s four nationally recognized sitesThe temple is dedicated to Queen Mother Y Lan. Every year, on her birth and death anniversaries, local people hold festivals to commemorate her contributions and achievements.
