According to the overall assessment, since 2021, Hai Phong has allocated more than 2.69 trillion VND from the budget to environmental protection in the eastern part of the city alone.

The city’s spending on environmental protection from the budget surpassed 1% in accordance with regulations. Authorities have strictly dealt with polluting facilities, ensuring that no major environmental incidents occurred.

Air quality across the city, especially in high-density residential areas, urban zones, industrial parks, and clusters of manufacturing facilities, though considered at high risk for pollution, has shown marked improvement, according to both periodic and annual monitoring. Several key environmental indicators remain within permissible limits.

In recent years, the city has put into operation several key facilities such as Gia Minh solid waste treatment complex, Vinh Niem wastewater treatment plant, and Trang Minh wastewater treatment plant. These have helped address urban environmental issues and ensured a greener, cleaner, and safer living environment for residents.
