Opportunities to reach farther

Hoang Nam Phat Agricultural Cooperative in Tu Ky Commune is a pioneer in the production, processing and export of clean agricultural products, with 500 hectares of its own production area and another 500 hectares linked with farmers.

Director Ho Viet Hoang said that in addition to serving the domestic market, his cooperative also exports agricultural products to China, Taiwan (China), South Korea, Japan and other markets. It also works with South Korean and Japanese partners to develop growing areas for cabbage, carrots, cauliflower, potatoes and corn.

Throughout the supply chain, the cooperative closely manages every stage from planting and harvesting to preservation, packaging and transportation, ensuring product quality.

Expanding cooperation with foreign partners creates numerous development opportunities. Many businesses and cooperatives seek to further expand their operations and improve product quality through international partnerships.

Do Thi Thuy Ha, Director of Song Gia Investment and Development Cooperative in Luu Kiem Ward, said the cooperative previously processed water hyacinths and raised trun que (a commercially produced earthworm) using traditional methods on plots of land, resulting in limited efficiency. Recently, the cooperative has invested in foreign technology and begun raising trun que in trays, helping improve productivity and economic efficiency.

During a visit to businesses and cooperatives in Hai Phong, Lao Ambassador Khamphao Ernthavanh spoke highly of the city's agricultural potential and the dynamism of Hai Phong businesses. She believed that businesses and cooperatives in the city would have many advantages if they invested in developing raw material areas, processing agricultural products and promoting trade with Lao businesses.

Going forward, the ambassador will ask Lao counselors to study potential areas for cooperation and connect Lao businesses and cooperatives with investment opportunities in Hai Phong, while remaining ready to support Hai Phong businesses and cooperatives in developing production areas in Laos.

Encouraging and supporting partnerships

To help businesses and cooperatives access foreign markets, the Hai Phong Department of Industry and Trade is implementing various programs to support sustainable business development and enhance competitiveness.

Vice Director Vu Thi Kim Phuong said the department supports cooperatives in trade promotion, brand building and improvement of production and business efficiency. It also works with partners such as Amazon Global Selling and Alibaba to provide training on e-commerce export, international market research, product portfolio development, global brand protection and sales processes on e-commerce platforms.

Nguyen Ngoc Khanh, Chairman of the city Cooperative Alliance, said the unit has organized numerous product showcases and business-matching conferences connecting cooperatives with foreign businesses.

The alliance will continue to accompany cooperatives, facilitate cooperation, trade and investment activities, and organize management training courses, study tours, investment networking programs, and knowledge-sharing activities on digital transformation, e-commerce and the collective economy with partner countries.
