The Hai Phong Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism has opened a photo-documentary exhibition and presented 22 awards of a fine arts and photography contest marking the 80th National Day.
The Hai Phong Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism held the opening ceremony of the photo-documentary exhibition “80 years – Echoes of the independence epic” and the awards ceremony for a fine arts and photography contest themed “Hai Phong – Trust and aspiration to rise” at the Center for Culture, Cinema and Exhibition on August 27.
One of the two main sections of the exhibition is a documentary photo collection of 200 images compiled by the center, highlighting milestones of the August 1945 Revolution and National Day (September 2), while reflecting outstanding achievements of the country and Hai Phong over the past 80 years in economy, culture, society, national defense and security, healthcare, education, and more.
In addition, 140 fine arts and photography works selected from nearly 600 entries to the contest “Hai Phong – Trust and aspiration to rise” are on display. The works vividly portray the beauty, transformation, vitality, and development aspirations of the port city in the new era.
At the opening ceremony, the organizers presented 22 awards to authors of outstanding works, including 2 first prizes, 4 second prizes, 6 third prizes, and 10 consolation prizes in both fine arts and photography categories.
The exhibition is open to the public until September 5.
This is a key activity to mark the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution (August 19, 1945 – 2025) and National Day (September 2, 1945 – 2025).
