The camp “Vietnamese youth: Mastering foreign languages – Bravery for integration,” held in Hai Phong city, has concluded with vibrant, engaging activities that drew strong participation from young people across the country.
The Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union held the closing gala for the 2nd camp “Vietnamese youth: Mastering foreign languages – Bravery for integration” at Hai Phong University on the evening of August 2.
Speaking at the event, Secretary of the Youth Union’s Central Committee Nguyen Tuong Lam expressed hope that the camp would grow beyond its current annual format to become a major national festival for Vietnamese youth, an event that embodies bravery, intelligence, and proactive integration.
Lam encouraged the participants to return to their localities and act as “international integration ambassadors,” promoting foreign language learning, enhancing integration skills, and inspiring the youth community with a shared ambition to reach out to the world. This, he said, would help shape a confident and knowledgeable young generation ready to contribute meaningfully to the nation’s sustainable development.
During the camp in Hai Phong, 100 student delegates from across the country took part in various activities, including a forum titled "Preparing Vietnamese youth for global integration in the digital age", discussions and project development on "Enhancing foreign language proficiency and international integration for local youth and children", and the final round of the 7th English Olympiad for Young Officials.
The 7th English Olympiad attracted over 56,000 contestants with more than 122,000 online test submissions. After the preliminary rounds, 15 finalists were divided into five teams to compete in the final. The organizers awarded one first prize, one second prize, one third prize, and two consolation prizes.
As part of the gala, students also competed in the final round of a project challenge focused on enhancing language and integration skills among young people and children across the country or in one locality.
100 students, divided into six teams, used their knowledge, skills, and creativity to design digital products such as project websites, inspirational videos or trailers, and delivered live presentations. Outstanding projects received first, second, and third prizes.
