The Bac Song Cam Education Complex project in the Bac Song Cam urban area is expected to add high-quality training resources and meet Hai Phong's rapid, sustainable development needs in the new phase.

Launching major education complexes

Early 2026 marks a clear shift in Hai Phong's education investment attraction, with numerous large-scale projects breaking ground.

In March 2026, EQuest Education Group started construction of the Bac Song Cam Education Complex in the Bac Song Cam urban area. The project trains about 20,000 students across 71,559 m², featuring a modern complex with university blocks and a full-level general education system. Around 40% of the area is green space and open areas, aiming for a ‘green school’ model. It focuses on digital-era fields like artificial intelligence (AI), STEM, automotive engineering, logistics, and data science, with international-standard programs.

At the event, the Ministry of Education and Training announced approval for establishing Phu Xuan University's branch in Hai Phong. The complex is poised to become the city's large-scale training hub, boosting workforce quality, promoting Bac Song Cam urban development, and drawing intellectuals, experts, and high-skilled workers to live and work there.

Also in March 2026, FPT Group began construction of an education complex in Phu Liem Ward for 5,800 students on about 10 hectares, including lecture halls, dormitories, sports areas, and green spaces. Highlights include a 13-story administrative building. Phase 1 targets operation from early 2027. The FPT complex is also expected to supplement high-quality training and support Hai Phong's rapid and sustainable growth.

Major corporations' involvement shows Hai Phong's growing appeal. Beyond industry and services, education attracts investment flows. Hai Phong has maintained top national GRDP growth for years and draws strong FDI. Rapid industrial and urban growth boosts population and labor force. Modern complexes not only add facilities but crucially build training ecosystems linked to technology and businesses – an indispensable trend in global workforce competition.

Aiming for regional and global education hub

In 2027, FPT's Hai Phong Education Complex project will complete Phase 1 and begin operations.

Currently, the city has 8 universities, 1,608 preschools and general education facilities, 652 language/informatics/life skills centers, and 77 vocational training centers, serving over 1 million students from preschool to high school. Education quality ranks among the national leaders.

Entering a new development phase, Hai Phong's ambition to become a key Red River Delta and national growth pole grows clearer. The city prioritizes education as the foundation, especially high-quality human resources, the key to competitiveness and sustainability. It targets becoming the North Central Coast region's education, training, and research center. By 2045, it aims to integrate with advanced regional and global education models.
