For the first time implementing the rotavirus vaccine under the Expanded Programme on Immunization, Hai Phong has provided 5,500 doses to protect children under one year old from the risk of diarrhea.

Hai Phong rolls out free Rotavirus Vaccine to infants from 2026

From 2026, children under 1 year old in Hai Phong will receive the Rotavirus vaccine free of charge as part of a city’s Expanded Immunization Program. This initiative is a major policy step with the aim of proactively preventing acute diarrhea caused by Rotavirus, the leading cause of hospitalization and death among young children.
