Vibrant Community Activities

While major stages serve as focal points of the Red Flamboyant Festival, grassroots cultural performances are helping extend the festive atmosphere deep into local communities.

In Kien Thuy Commune, the “Street Art – Brilliant Colors of May” program attracted large crowds of residents. The local cultural center became a lively gathering place featuring performances by community art clubs, artists and local residents. Songs in praise of the Party, President Ho Chi Minh and the homeland were performed with emotion, creating an atmosphere of excitement and shared pride among audiences.

Sharing the same spirit, Hai Duong Ward hosted the 2026 “Melodies of Pride” arts festival, featuring 12 performances staged by community art troupes. The program not only revisited proud traditions but also helped foster patriotism and pride among residents.

In Lac Phuong Commune, the first mass arts festival also left a strong impression with carefully staged performances reflecting local life and development aspirations. Many programs featured well-known songs about Hai Phong such as “My Homeland Port,” “City of Red Flamboyant Flowers,” “Afternoon at the Port,” and “I Am Hai Phong.”

Beyond cultural activities, several programs were combined with social welfare initiatives. In Hai Duong Ward, the “Melodies of Pride” festival organized by the ward’s Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee presented 64 gift packages to disadvantaged families, spreading a spirit of solidarity and community support.

Alongside cultural activities, grassroots sports movements have also gained momentum. In Kien Thuy Commune, a pickleball friendship tournament drew officials, civil servants, workers and athletes from neighboring localities. The event not only promoted physical fitness but also strengthened exchanges and connections among participating units.

Enriching Cultural and Spiritual Life

In addition to arts and sports programs, reading culture and community activities are also helping enrich residents’ spiritual life during the festival season.

In An Duong Ward, a series of cultural activities has been held. The ward organized nine events marking major celebrations of the city and country, including public outreach campaigns, visits and gift presentations, cultural performances and film screenings, contributing to a joyful atmosphere and stronger community bonds.

A book exhibition themed “Proud of An Duong – Carrying Forward Local Traditions” attracted large numbers of visitors. At the same time, the launch of the An Duong Culture Club marked a new step in the locality’s literary and artistic development. Built on the foundation of a poetry club, the club has attracted nearly 50 members and published multiple works, helping nurture sustainable cultural and spiritual values.

The Red Flamboyant Festival 2026 features more than 60 activities, including 40 events organized by departments, sectors and local authorities, reflecting the creativity and proactive role of grassroots communities in responding to the festival.

The diversification of cultural, artistic and sporting activities not only meets residents’ spiritual and recreational needs, but also contributes to building a healthy cultural environment. As each neighborhood develops its own activities, the festival is no longer confined to the city center, but has expanded widely to become a true celebration for the people.
