Great unity house for near-poor family breaks ground in Kien Hai
Vice Chairman of the Hai Phong People's Committee Le Trung Kien has attended the groundbreaking ceremony for a great unity house for a disadvantaged family in Kien Hai Commune.

Le Trung Kien, Member of the Standing Committee of the Hai Phong Party Committee and Vice Chairman of the Hai Phong People's Committee, attended the groundbreaking ceremony for a great unity house for the family of Ngo Thi Bac in Dac Loc Village, Kien Hai Commune on November 6.
The event was organized by the Standing Commune of the Commune Party Committee as a practical activity marking the 96th Traditional Day of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (November 18, 1930 – 2026) and in response to Vietnam Culture Day on November 24.
Born in 1955, Ngo Thi Bac is classified as a near-poor household member. She lives alone and has neither a husband nor children. Due to her advanced age and poor health, she frequently falls ill and has no stable income. She relies mainly on support from relatives and neighbors. She is currently living alone in a severely deteriorated house of approximately 30 m2 that no longer provides safe living conditions, particularly during the stormy season.

In response to Bac's circumstances, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Kien Hai Commune jointly reviewed her situation and proposed assistance for the construction of the great unity house to provide her with safe and stable accommodation. The new house is expected to cover approximately 45 m2, feature a self-contained design and include all essential living facilities.
The total construction budget is estimated at about VND 250 million, of which the Commune Fund for the Poor contributed VND 100 million, with the remaining VND 150 million coming from the family and charitable donors.
The groundbreaking of the great unity house demonstrates the care and support of Party committees, local authorities, Fatherland Front committees at all levels and the wider community for people facing hardship. The initiative also helps promote mutual assistance, strengthen the great national unity bloc and advance social welfare policies.
