Ngoc Hai Fishing Port steps up efforts to lift EC ‘yellow card’

Ngoc Hai Fishing Port in Do Son Ward, Hai Phong City, is strengthening control over vessel arrivals and departures, monitoring seafood output and origins, contributing to lifting the European Commission (EC)’s ‘yellow card’ warning.

Với lưu lượng tàu lớn, công tác quản lý, kiểm soát tàu ra vào cảng được thực hiện chặt chẽ. Đây là khâu quan trọng trong phòng, chống khai thác IUU.
Given the high volume of traffic, the management and control of vessels entering and leaving the port are strictly carried out. This is an important step in preventing and combating illegal, unreported and unregulated (IUU) fishing.

Tàu cá phải thông báo trước ít nhất 1 giờ khi xuất, nhập cảng. Nhân viên cảng tiếp nhận thông tin, giám sát sản lượng thủy sản bốc dỡ, phục vụ truy xuất nguồn gốc.
Fishing vessels must give at least one hour's advance notice before entering or leaving the port. Port staff receive the information and monitor the volume of seafood unloaded to support traceability.
Lực lượng chức năng hướng dẫn ngư dân cài đặt, sử dụng Hệ thống truy xuất nguồn gốc thủy sản điện tử (eCDT). Ứng dụng hỗ trợ khai báo xuất, nhập cảng; ghi nhật ký khai thác, mua bán thủy sản và truy xuất nguồn gốc. Đến nay, 100% số tàu cá đã cài đặt ứng dụng.
Local authorities guide fishermen in installing and using the electronic Catch Documentation and Traceability system (eCDT). The application supports arrival and departure declaration, the recording of fishing and seafood trading activities, and traceability. To date, all fishing vessels have installed the application.
Các cơ quan chức năng thành phố đã hoàn thành rà soát, làm sạch dữ liệu tàu cá; đối soát thông tin trên VNeID và cập nhật lên hệ thống cơ sở dữ liệu nghề cá quốc gia (VN-Fishbase). Qua đó, đáp ứng các quy định chống khai thác hải sản bất hợp pháp (IUU), góp phần gỡ bỏ cảnh báo
The city authorities have completed the review and verification of fishing vessel data, cross-checked information against the VNeID system, and updated the records in the national fisheries database (VN-Fishbase). These efforts help ensure compliance with regulations on combating IUU fishing and contribute to having the EC's “yellow card” warning lifted.
