Hai Phong considers spending over VND 5 trillion upgrading Sat River embankments
Hai Phong has proposed investing VND 5.027 trillion in renovating and upgrading Sat River embankments from Cay Bridge to Cat Bridge, expected to begin before June 30, 2027.

The Urban Affairs Committee of the Hai Phong People's Council held a working session with the City Agricultural and Rural Development Construction Investment Project Management Board and relevant agencies on October 27 to review a draft resolution approving the investment policy for the project to renovate and upgrade Sat River embankments from Cay Bridge to Cat Bridge.
Nguyen Khac Toan, Member of the City Party Committee and Vice Chairman of the City People's Council, attended the meeting.

The project aims to control wastewater discharges and ensure water quality before discharge into rivers, thereby improving the aquatic environment and ecosystem. It will also build river embankments, comprehensively address flooding along the protected embankment route, prevent erosion, etc.
The landscape, parks, green spaces and riverside land will be improved to create public spaces and enhance residents' quality of life, gradually establishing a distinctive scenic corridor, contributing to the development of a green, smart and sustainable city.

The total proposed investment is VND 5.027 trillion, funded by the city and Central budgets. The project is scheduled for implementation from 2027 to 2032.
At the review meeting, delegates focused on clarifying the need for the project, its scale and investment components. Members of the Urban Affairs Committee broadly agreed with the draft resolution and the proposed investment policy. They requested that the Department of Finance report on and clarify adjustments and additions made to the project's objectives, scale and implementation schedule after appraisal, and identify any matters requiring supplementary appraisal, if applicable, to provide a sufficient basis for submission to the City People's Council for consideration and decision.
