Connecting regional specialties with Hai Phong market
Trade fairs and promotional weeks are creating more opportunities for regional specialties to enter Hai Phong market, boosting supply-demand connections and sustainable partnerships.

Hai Phong brings together regional specialties
The 2026 OCOP Agricultural Products and Regional Specialties Week is to take place at the Viet Tiep Friendship Cultural Palace in Hai Phong from October 15 to 20.
This year's fair will feature 200 booths of 123 businesses, organizations and individuals from 34 provinces and cities nationwide. The participants will showcase around 2,000 products, including 130 booths displaying OCOP products rated three to five stars.
In recent years, Hai Phong has frequently organized regional agricultural product weeks and trade fairs, providing opportunities for localities such as Lai Chau, Son La, Hoa Binh and Dien Bien to introduce and sell their products through supermarkets and shopping centers across the city.
Through these programs, businesses and cooperatives from different localities have strengthened connections, signed cooperation agreements and brought agricultural products into Hai Phong market. As a result, regional specialties have become increasingly available in stores and supermarkets, offering consumers more choices and greater convenience.

Sen Hong Hung Thinh Cooperative in Son La hopes not only to sell more products during these trade promotion programs but, more importantly, to establish long-term partnerships. This will give Son La's OCOP agricultural products more opportunities to maintain a regular presence in Hai Phong while sharing stories about the land and people of Son La with consumers.
Meanwhile, Hai Phong businesses and cooperatives are also proactively seeking and expanding markets in other provinces and cities through various channels, including e-commerce platforms, trade fairs and distribution networks, thereby expanding market access, increasing sales and raising product awareness.
Vu Thi Minh Hang, a management staff member at Vu Cong One Member Co., Ltd. in Man Tra Village, Tran Phu Commune, said the company greatly values the role of trade promotion programs, fairs and business networking events organized by local authorities as it expands product distribution to other provinces and cities.
Cooperation for mutual growth
Hai Phong is an international gateway and also has diverse and abundant agricultural production areas in the western part of the city, with well-known export products such as lychees and carrots.

“Connection for consumption of regional agricultural products not only helps increase farmers' incomes, meet the needs of consumers in the port city and expand sales markets, but also reinforces Hai Phong's role as a regional commercial and logistics hub,” said Luong Thi Kiem, Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment.
Trade fairs and promotional weeks organized by other provinces and cities in Hai Phong are carefully prepared. They not only promote product images and brands but also demonstrate the initiative and goodwill of local authorities and relevant agencies in seeking markets, expanding cooperative partnerships and pursuing mutual growth.
At a forum on connecting agricultural products across the Red River Delta, organized by the National Agricultural Extension Center in coordination with the Hai Phong Department of Agriculture and Environment, Vu Thi Kim Phuong, Deputy Director of the Hai Phong Department of Industry and Trade, affirmed that the industry and trade sector would continue working closely with the agriculture and environment sector, businesses, cooperatives and local authorities to build sustainable agricultural value chains and integrate them into international markets.
Going forward, effective implementation of regional agricultural value-chain development will require close coordination between the two sectors, focusing on three key areas: production and market planning, along with supply-demand balancing; quality improvement, brand building and trade promotion; and development of logistics and distribution infrastructure, application of e-commerce and digital transformation...
