Hai Phong among top 4 localities in infrastructure development and digital transformation
Strong development of telecommunications infrastructure and increasingly extensive, high-speed connectivity have placed Hai Phong among Vietnam’s four leading localities in infrastructure development and digital transformation.
Telecommunications infrastructure in Hai Phong City has been developed in a modern direction, with large capacity and high speeds, increasingly meeting the connectivity needs of residents and businesses, according to the Department of Science and Technology.
The broadband fiber-optic network covers all communes, wards and special zones. By the end of September, the city had had 4,818 BTS stations in operation, including 1,634 5G BTS stations. Average 5G coverage reached 97% of the population, while coverage stood at 100% in industrial parks, seaports, airports, tourist areas and shopping centers.
Synchronous infrastructure investment has helped improve service quality, access speeds and connectivity across the city. The number of mobile and broadband internet subscriptions in Hai Phong has remained high, placing the city among the country's four leading localities in infrastructure development and digital transformation, alongside Ha Noi, Ho Chi Minh City and Hue.
The development of telecommunications infrastructure, particularly the expansion of the 5G network, provides an important foundation for Hai Phong to accelerate digital transformation and develop digital government, the digital economy and digital society, while improving the quality of services for residents and businesses.
