According to a recruitment demand survey conducted by the Hai Phong Economic Zone Authority, enterprises in industrial parks and economic zones need to recruit more than 120,000 workers in 2026.

From 2026 to 2030, this demand is expected to reach about 400,000 workers, mainly in electronics, mechanical manufacturing, supporting industries, textiles and garments, and leather and footwear.

To create a competitive advantage and retain workers, the businesses said Hai Phong needs to accelerate the development of social housing, rental housing and dormitories in price segments suited to the income of workers in industrial parks and economic zones, helping them stay with businesses and remain in the city for the long term.

As part of the workshop, representatives of city departments and sectors exchanged views and addressed enterprises’ recommendations and proposals concerning policies on developing social and rental housing, development of bus routes to industrial parks, and procedures related to temporary residence registration and opening of social insurance books for workers from other provinces and cities.
