2026 Con Son - Kiep Bac Autumn Festival opens
Hai Phong has solemnly held a ceremony commemorating the 726th death anniversary of National Hero Tran Hung Dao and opening the 2026 Con Son - Kiep Bac Autumn Festival.
The Hai Phong Party Committee, People’s Council, People’s Committee and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee solemnly held a ceremony commemorating the 726th death anniversary of National Hero Tran Hung Dao, opening the 2026 Con Son - Kiep Bac Autumn Festival and unveiling the brand identity for the Yen Tu - Vinh Nghiem - Con Son, Kiep Bac World Heritage Site on the evening of September 26 at Con Son - Kiep Bac.
The program was broadcast live on the television channels and digital platforms of Hai Phong Newspaper, Radio and Television, and was also simulcast on more than 20 television channels in other provinces and cities.
In his opening speech, Nguyen Minh Hung, Vice Chairman of the Hai Phong People’s Committee and Head of the Festival Organizing Committee, affirmed that UNESCO’s inscription of the Yen Tu - Vinh Nghiem - Con Son, Kiep Bac Complex of Monuments and Scenic Landscapes as a World Heritage Site, together with the Statement of Outstanding Universal Value, represents international recognition of the heritage’s exceptional values and Truc Lam Zen.
The program also featured the unveiling of the brand identity for the Yen Tu - Vinh Nghiem - Con Son, Kiep Bac World Heritage Site. The brand identity was jointly adopted by Hai Phong, Quang Ninh and Bac Ninh, creating a common visual identity for the trans-regional World Heritage Site.
This was followed by Le Ngoc Chau, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Hai Phong Party Committee and Head of the Hai Phong Delegation of the National Assembly, performing the drum-beating ceremony to officially open the 2026 Con Son - Kiep Bac Autumn Festival.
In the sacred space of Kiep Bac Temple, the memorial ceremony for Tran Hung Dao was held solemnly and reverently.
Following the reading of the memorial text, leaders and delegates carried out the ceremony of processing the memorial text and offering incense at Kiep Bac Temple.
Earlier, an art program brought together artists, singers and performers from numerous Central and local theaters as well as professional arts organizations from across the country.
The 2026 Con Son - Kiep Bac Autumn Festival is taking place over nine days, from September 26 to October 4, featuring numerous traditional rituals as well as cultural and artistic activities, experiential activities, and showcases of traditional craft villages, OCOP products, agricultural products and cuisine. Digital technology continues to be applied in festival services through QR codes on the Smart Hai Phong platform, helping residents and visitors access information about programs, attractions and services during the festival.
